Biography
Photography has been with me much of my life in some shape or another. But my journey to achieve a professional level of skill and body of work started three years ago when I was looking for a balance point to my career in high tech and e-commerce. Since then I've poured a lot of time and energy, traveled endless miles, read many books, talked to many people, took workshops with the best teachers I could find - all in the quest to learn and master photography. The journey won't end until the last time I push the shutter button many years down the road. Between now and then it's about practice and being passionate that today's image is better than yesterday's best image.
During the early part of my journey I've experimented with various genres, until I arrived at the conclusion that my visual voice is in photographing people and their lifestyle. As portraits or as commercial images. I enjoy the process of taking an image from visual concept through the various production phases, until the final image comes out on the other end. My experience in Corporate America provides me with valuable tools when it comes to team work, managing projects, and leadership - a mix of right brain/left brain skills.
Just as my life has been a diverse mix of cultures, languages, continents, food, locations - so is my photography. People's unique attributes only provide more flavorful ingredients to what I as a photographer get to work with. I enjoy working with people of different ethnic background, the successful and the homeless, the size 0 model and the alternative model, the photogenic and the everyday person.
